“We shall, God willing, emerge from this ordeal with our dignity intact and our heads held high. What matters is that the blow, however grave or formidable, does not bring us to our knees. And I say to you, with complete confidence, serenity, and reliance upon Almighty God: this great, powerful, and unprecedented blow has not brought us down, nor, God willing, will it ever bring us down. From this experience, and from the lessons and wisdom it has imparted, we shall emerge stronger, more steadfast, more resilient, more resolute, more firmly rooted, and better equipped to confront every possibility and every fear that may lie ahead.”
