🇵🇸🇱🇧 BRICS has issued some of its strongest collective language yet on Palestine and Lebanon in the new New Delhi Declaration. On Palestine, BRICS explicitly rejects the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza and warns against any political or security arrangement that could prejudice their “inalienable rights” or “legitimize or prolong occupation” (Board of Peace). The bloc reaffirms the Palestinian right to self-determination and the right of return, supports Palestine becoming a full member of the United Nations, and calls for an independent and sovereign Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, encompassing Gaza and the West Bank, with East Jerusalem as its capital. BRICS also rejects “any attempt at temporary or permanent forced displacement” of Palestinians and any effort to alter Gaza’s territory or demographic composition. Perhaps most significantly, the declaration states plainly: “We reiterate that international law and international judicial bodies demand the end of the illegal occupation.” The declaration condemns starvation as a method of warfare, attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure, and restrictions on humanitarian assistance. It reiterates support for UNRWA and references the proceedings before the International Court of Justice concerning Israel’s obligations under the Genocide Convention. On Lebanon, the language is equally direct. BRICS condemns continued violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and ceasefire arrangements and explicitly calls Israeli troops remaining on Lebanese territory “occupying forces.” “We call on Israel to respect the terms agreed with the Lebanese government and to withdraw its occupying forces from all of the Lebanese territories, in which they remain.” BRICS also reiterates its support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, backs UNIFIL and condemns attacks against UN peacekeepers and their facilities. This is significant because it isn’t simply a statement from Russia, Iran, China or another individual member. This is consensus language adopted by BRICS as a bloc in New Delhi rejecting the forced displacement of Palestinians, demanding an end to the “illegal occupation,” reaffirming Palestinian statehood with East Jerusalem as its capital, and explicitly demanding that Israel withdraw its “occupying forces” from Lebanon. 🔴 @DDGeopolitics

Didn't see any of these countries breaking economic relations or imposing sanctions on Israel. So it's all just a bulls*it

BRICS has replaced the collective West as the world's moral authority. Hard to imagine 20 years ago America and they European vassals would join Israel as the root of most of the world's evil.

Does anyone else remember back in March. When first rocket from Lebanon went into Israel after Iran war started. Hezbollah said they didn’t fire it And Isreali commander said they went into a building and fired off rocket on accident Rocket fell in a field But then week later. That war started up again with both firing at eachother

Not a single word about the Cuban crisis caused by the inhumane and illegal blockade from the United Snakes! BRICS is all talk at this point.

And if they said something you'd be saying they are all talk for just saying something. I know how that goes
  • Cristóbal Olivares

You get his point though... there are grave transgresions ocurring from the usual suspects, but we havent seen an actual response from BRICS. Have they all collectively stop trading with little israel? Have they done a unified response to help cuba? Or Even a unified response against the kidnapping of a sitting president? Or a unified response against the assasination of a sitting leader? I think is time for them to start to take some real steps towards actual multipolarity rather than just another corporations take over.
  • Без имени

I think it's unrealistic to expect such a response, not because BRICS is bad but because it's not the nature of it. I get why people want something but they also have to understand that's not what BRICS is for.

Multipolarity is just that - multiple poles. I'd argue we have multiple poles already, actually thanks to some BRICS countries.

lol brics is just china+worthless liabilities same as how nato is US+clowns

    Nah
  • Cristóbal Olivares

I think that is thanks to the degratation of the global hegemon. One that continues to disrupt at every single chance it gets. I think that people wanted a counter weight against the evil Empire, but BRICS has to develop BRICS rather than being just the opposition of the evil Empire.
  • Без имени

The hegemon didn't just start desintegrating without any pushback. Exactly, BRICS is not against anyone. It's for other purposes. It's not a military alliance, it's a different thing.
