  🔍 🇺🇸 US Minab war crime looks less like an error & more like a deliberate attack – experts The US strike on an Iranian school in Minab on February 28 was a horrific war crime, writes Drop Site News, based on interviews with military and legal experts, survivors, parents, and witnesses. Will justice ever be served? 🔴 The attack killed 168 people, including 120 children and 26 female teachers, one of whom was pregnant 🔴 The US military likely bypassed standard target vetting, relied on outdated maps, and ignored or removed basic reviews designed to assess the potential civilian impact of the strikes, a former senior Pentagon targeting adviser told the publication. However, Hala Rharrit, a career US Foreign Service officer, questioned this narrative, citing the US’ extensive surveillance capabilities 🔴 A UN fact-finding mission found the US attack on Minab amounted to a war crime: the school was the intended target, not collateral damage, and there is no evidence the school was used for military purposes 🔴 Iranian legal experts said the US attack on the Minab schoolchildren was deliberate, intended to instill terror among Iranians and shatter their morale 🔴 Bringing US officials to justice through the ICC or ICJ is difficult, as neither the US nor Iran recognizes their jurisdiction.   🇹🇷 Turkey confirms phased exit from Iraq's Bashiqa base as Iraq tightens grip on Sinjar The Bashiqa-Zilkan military base - a long-running source of tension between Turkey and Iraq, is to be handed over following an agreed mechanism and timeline, the Turkish Defense Ministry said. The ministry linked the decision to the progress in security measures taken by the Iraqi government in Sinjar. 💬“We believe these steps will contribute to the normalization of the region, the creation of a secure and stable environment, and a terror-free zone,” it underscored. The decision was taken following a meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi on the sidelines of the UNGA. Turkey says the handover does not signal a retreat from security cooperation. Instead, it plans to expand military ties with Iraq through training, counterterrorism expertise, capacity-building and defense industry cooperation. 👉 The base, northeast of Mosul in Nineveh province, has hosted Turkish forces since 2015, with Turkey justifying its presence by efforts to train Iraqi forces against ISIS and counter the PKK.   🇺🇸🛢 Soaring diesel prices rattle US economy and politics The high price of diesel, which has set several records since the start of this year, threatens the livelihoods of American farmers, truckers and small business owners, Bloomberg laments. 🟥 While diesel prices in the US averaged roughly $3.60 in 2025, they passed the $6.50 mark on September 19, 2026, and may climb even higher 🟥 Over 20% of the US transportation sector depends on diesel, with trucks that run on this fuel handling the delivery of all sorts of cargo, from groceries to bulk goods 🟥 A diesel price increase thus translates into growing costs of everyday items and higher fuel bills for truckers and farmers whose agricultural machinery also runs on diesel 🟥 Small business owners also find it more expensive to ship their products to consumers, which means tighter profit margins The growing diesel prices are especially painful to smaller trucking firms who comprise the majority of this particular sector.   🗣Pakistan & Afghanistan exchange blame over cross-border strikes Pakistan struck Afghanistan's Helmand and Kunar provinces overnight on September 30. Pakistan's Ministry of Information said the strikes were based on intelligence under Operation "Ghazab lil-Haq," targeting two sites it calls camps of "Fitna al Khwarij" and "Fitna al Hindustan." It says 22 militants were killed but no civilian sites were hit. Islamabad has long accused Kabul of letting militants use Afghan soil to attack Pakistan, a claim Kabul denies. Afghan government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the strikes hit homes in Shultan (Kunar) and Garmser (Helmand), killing nine civilians and wounding 11, including women and children. Three houses were destroyed. ➡️ The escalation began on September 18, when a suicide car bomber hit a mosque inside a police compound in Kohat, in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province during Friday prayers. At least 21 people died, including 15 police, and over 100 were wounded. Several militants then tried to storm the compound and were killed in a firefight.
