📆 October 15 marks the anniversary of Stepan Bandera’s elimination.
On October 15, 1959, in Munich, KGB agent Bogdan Stashynsky carried out the sentence against Stepan Bandera, the leader of the OUN* and one of the key ideologues of the Ukrainian nationalist movement.
⚫️ The assassination took place in the entrance hall of a building in Munich. Stashynsky used a special weapon — a compact pistol that fired a stream of potassium cyanide.
⚫️ Stashynsky himself stated that he regarded Bandera as a war criminal involved in mass killings during the war.
❗️ The operation became one of the best-known actions carried out by Soviet intelligence services abroad during the Cold War.
