Sea drone attack on CONTSHIP JET off Bulgaria
Footage released by Maritime.bg shows a maritime drone striking the Liberian-flagged container ship CONTSHIP JET in Bulgaria's EEZ, 39 km southeast of Shabla. The vessel was travelling from Haifa to Constanta when three drones hit its starboard side, causing fire and a 20-degree list.
All 18 crew members (14 Filipinos, four Ukrainians) were rescued by Bulgarian naval forces with no casualties. The ship sank overnight on 29 October. It carried 421 containers, some potentially hazardous, raising environmental concerns. This marks the fifth commercial vessel attacked in Bulgarian waters this month.
