🇺🇸🇮🇷⚡️ — WATCH: Newly declassified footage broadcasted by 60 Minutes shows the rescue of two U.S. Air Force officers, identified by the call signs “Alpha” and “Bravo,” after their F-15E fighter jet was shot down over Iran back in April.
The two landed about five miles apart in mountainous terrain south of Isfahan as Iranian forces searched for them. Footage of a strike on Iranian forces was also featured.
Alpha was recovered eight hours after ejecting in a risky daytime mission involving 21 U.S. aircraft.
Bravo remained behind enemy lines for roughly two days. Despite suffering a broken back and other injuries after his damaged parachute caused a hard landing, he climbed a 7,000-foot ridgeline before two Air Force pararescuers reached him and brought him to a U.S. helicopter.
