UK Christian Police Community Support Officer Luke Salmons, 46, has received a confidential settlement from North Yorkshire Police after being suspended for questioning claims that Islam is a “religion of peace” and raising questions about jihad, Hamas and Gaza during mandatory diversity training. Salmons was suspended two days after the session and was later found guilty of gross misconduct and placed on the Police Barred List, effectively preventing him from working in policing. He appealed, and North Yorkshire Chief Constable Tim Forber subsequently concluded that his conduct did not amount to gross misconduct or breach professional standards, resulting in his removal from the barred list. Salmons then brought legal claims alleging religious discrimination, harassment and violations of his freedoms of religion and expression. North Yorkshire Police settled the case before it reached an Employment Tribunal, with the amount remaining confidential. Subscribe Visegrád24
