Some additional information and clarifications regarding the fighting which took place last night between members of the SBU and GUR. Earlier this week, two soldiers from the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) were kidnapped in the courtyard of their home in Kyiv, including deputy commander of the RDK Stepan Kaplunov. The RDK is subordinated to the GUR, and it seems likely that the SBU was responsible for the kidnapping. Last night, the GUR was dispatched to a high-rise building at 10 Yuriya Shums'koho Street in the Berezniaky District of Kyiv to investigate the SBU about accusations of them kidnapping Kaplunov and another member of the RDK. A fight then broke out, prompting the SBU's Alpha unit (special counter-terror unit) to arrive, which then resulted in the shooting starting. The standoff continued until past 10am the next morning. Following the clashes, investigators from the State Bureau of Investigation arrived at the scene to de-escalate the situation. At least three GUR members were injured in the fighting. No deaths were reported. During the preliminary investigation, it was established that the detainees were indeed from the RDK, with their weapons and documents having been confiscated by the kidnappers at the time. Kaplunov has since been released, however his lawyer stated that his whereabouts are currently unknown. The widely-circulating claim by the SBU about it foiling a "Russian FSB terror plot" to attack a leader of a Russian opposition movement seems to be unfounded. RBC Ukraine backs this up, quoting Kaplunov's lawyer stating that the SBU is trying to cover up the kidnapping, and present this Russia-oriented version of events to the public. (NOTE: This is based entirely on information from my own sources and reports by Ukrainian media outlets).

  • Achtung!

I don't really post there much anymore, the chat is not really even about the war anymore

It had an evil energy. You know what I’m talking about. It’s not good to surround yourself with people like that. Some of them were pure evil. I only said hello because I remember you kept some part of yourself sane. A sense of humour. But no. You are who you associate with. I won’t associate with psychopaths like that.

  • Egor Zhukov

  • Egor Zhukov

  • Egor Zhukov

A den of snakes, that's what Ukraine became after 2014.

What's hilarious is they say Ukraine is a democracy.
