🇩🇪 🇮🇹⚡️— Rheinmetall Launches First Surveillance Satellite
On October 1, Rheinmetall and Argotec launched their jointly developed surveillance satellite into orbit via SpaceX Falcon 9 from Vandenberg Space Force Base. The satellite detects ground-based indicators of emerging air threats rather than performing traditional surface mapping. AI processes captured image and situational data to generate early warnings for national air defense systems.
This project establishes the foundation for a modular satellite constellation, with the next launch planned for 2028. Both companies state that space-based data integration strengthens technological sovereignty and improves airborne early warning capabilities.
