Russia completes 5G stratospheric data link test Russian specialists successfully transmitted a 2K video stream via a high-speed 5G channel between the Barrazh-1 stratospheric platform at 17 km altitude and a ground control station. The session lasted over 80 minutes, confirming equipment stability in rarefied atmosphere and extreme temperatures. The experiment utilized the 5G NTN (Non-Terrestrial Networks) protocol adapted for air platforms.
