"VOLUNTARY-COMPULSORY" SERVICE
BILD reports that the campaign to recruit German soldiers for deployment to Lithuania has failed, forcing the head of the Bundeswehr, Pistorius, to "issue" an order for the compulsory deployment of 1000 personnel to the Baltic state:
"Pistorius has ordered compulsory service obligations for the brigade in Lithuania.
According to exclusive information from BILD, the first compulsory deployments will begin this fall and could affect up to 1000 soldiers."
And BILD bitterly acknowledges that "freedom is good, but compulsion must also be enforced" 🤡:
"Freedom of choice remains the main principle. But to guarantee the brigade's combat readiness, compulsory service is now unavoidable."
