Kiswahili's Global Growth Requires Stronger Focus on Translation & Interpreting, Says Tanzanian Language Specialist 🇹🇿 Translation and interpreting have long connected people across society, yet they remain underappreciated as professions, Kusanja Emanuel Kusanja, language specialist at Tanzania's National Kiswahili Council (BAKITA)🎓, told Sputnik Africa. "We believe that greater emphasis should be placed on this profession and that people should begin learning about it from primary school so that children develop a strong foundation and understanding of translation and interpreting," Kusanja said on the occasion of International Translation Day, celebrated annually on September 30. 🎓BAKITA is a government organization created in 1967 by a parliamentary act to promote, regulate, and standardize the Kiswahili language in Tanzania.
