$500M Smelter & Power Plant to Create Up to 5,000 Jobs in Zimbabwe: Media
Large mining and energy investment is taking shape in Mberengwa—the country's southern province—to deepen local beneficiation and create thousands of jobs, according to media reports.
⁉️Who's behind it
The project is being developed by FS Mining, a South African-registered company that is currently setting up a $15 million wash plant.
The investment includes:
🟠$100 million ferrochrome smelter with 16.5 MVA sintering capacity in the first phase;
🟠$400 million thermal power station starting at 25 MW and eventually expanding to 320 MW.
