How to get into the catalog
Two ways, both free. How many channels came each way, and what happens after a submission.
On September 10, 2026 the catalog held 5,922 records: 5,593 channels, 107 chats, 206 bots and 16 mini apps. Almost all of them we found ourselves; submissions from people since August 16 — 4. Both ways lead to the same page, with the same numbers and the same rule of selection.
The first way: we find it
We read public channels and collect the addresses they link to: mentions in posts, links in descriptions, sitemaps. Every address found goes into a candidate queue, and on September 10, 2026 it holds 120,049 records waiting for a check, 6,240 accepted, 182,137 rejected automatically — closed, empty, dead addresses — and 138 rejected by a person.
An accepted candidate becomes a record. The first nightly measurement comes the same night, the score the night after: for records published in the last 30 days, one day passes between the first measurement and the first score.
Since September 9, 2026 automatic intake is stopped: we stopped looking for new addresses and creating records from the queue, to finish what has already been collected. The queue stands, 120,049 addresses wait in it; when intake returns, they go first. Submissions from people are not affected.
The second way: a submission
A submission is the channel's address and a few words about it. A person reviews it, usually within a day. Since August 16 there have been 4 submissions: one approved, three rejected. Three of four is a lot, and the reason was the same each time: the channel did not pass the threshold described below.
The language of the record is not chosen in the submission: we determine it from the texts of the posts, and an English-language channel lands in the English part of the catalog by itself. The category is also set from the posts; if it is wrong, the owner can dispute it after verifying ownership, and before that — write to us through «Report» on the record's page: it is the same form, and the category is a legitimate reason.
What a channel needs
A public address: t.me/name, without an invite link. We do not read private channels, and there can be no record of one.
Alive. The threshold is the same as for the score: at least 5 posts in 30 days and at least 100 subscribers. A channel below the threshold gets into the catalog, but with an empty space instead of a score; why is the guide about where the emptiness comes from.
Its own. A copy of another channel, reposts without a single word of its own, a channel made of links to other channels — rejected. On September 10, 2026 the catalog held 50 records we consider parts of networks — groups of channels with one owner; 34 of them are kept out of search because they have no description of their own or it repeats a neighbour's.
What happens next
How long to wait. A submission — up to a day: it goes to a person straight away, bypassing the candidate queue. While automatic intake is stopped, a submission is the only way into the catalog for a channel that is not in it.
The first night the record stands without a score, the second — with a preliminary one: the history is shorter than seven days. After a week of daily measurements the mark goes away, and the channel gets a rank in its category. We choose the category from the posts; the owner can dispute it after verification.
The description on the page in the first days is ours, written from the channel's posts. Verify ownership — and replace it with your own; you also get replies to reviews in the channel's name and a score badge. What each verification step gives is the guide next to this one.
Chats, bots and mini apps
A submission for a chat, a bot or a mini app goes the same way but is checked differently: they have no posts, and no five-post threshold either. A chat must be public and have members — the page shows their number and how many are online now. A bot must answer /start, a mini app must open by its link. These records have no score by design, and that is not a flaw of the submission: how to read the empty space instead of a number is the guide next door.
What the catalog does not do
It does not remove a public channel on request. A record about a public channel is a record about a public channel; verification gives a voice on the page, not a switch.
It does not sell scores or move records up the lists. Rankings and collections are assembled from the numbers on the pages, and the rule of assembly is written in words under every list.
