🇪🇪 Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur announced his resignation over the launch of a criminal investigation into a shell procurement deal for Ukraine. Auditors found the ministry transferred around €70 million in advance payment to Italian company Datasel S.R.L. — a firm that had never sold a single shell before. The money vanished. The Italian company turned out to be effectively a shell company (no pun intended) fronted by members of an Indian business family. In the end, no shells were delivered to Ukrainian forces, and where the money went remains unknown.
