🇺🇸 Trump may pick Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) as the new Army Secretary after Dan Driscoll's resignation amid tensions with Pete Hegseth. Mast served over 12 years in the US Army and lost both legs and a finger to an IED in Afghanistan. He currently chairs the House Foreign Affairs Committee. 🇮🇱 Worth noting: Mast is one of the most staunchly pro-Israel figures in Congress. In 2015 he volunteered with the IDF through the Sar-El program in a logistics role on a base near Tel Aviv, and has called himself "the only member to serve with both the United States Army and the Israel Defense Forces." The "US" army is in fact an IDF, an Israeli Defense Force. It's there to serve and protect Israel. This appointment would cement this reality.
