Former Israeli general Gadi Eizenkot served in Netanyahu’s war cabinet, during this time he lost his son in clashes with Hamas’s Al-Qassam and publicly grieved his death.
Gadi is now projected to become Israel’s next PM. Israelis appear to want a tougher hardliner than Netanyahu, whom they see as too soft on Iran. Plus Bibi’s corruption trial is not helping.
Notably Trump stays out and said: “It’s most appropriate for me to stay out of Israeli elections, but I may endorse someone.”
So if Trump has no public favorite, maybe caused by the beef with Bibi … Gadi has good chances.
