- 📢 GPT-6 Astra just cracked a 217-year-old Napoleon-era cipher Carter Church used GPT-6 Astra to decipher a 217-year-old letter sent to one of Napoleon’s generals, with roughly six hours of model work. The hardest part wasn’t the code itself. It was getting usable text from a barely legible historical scan. Astra: → Transcribed 1,300 cipher units from the image → Found a published partial key → Built a solver for the remaining code → Cross-referenced historical letters to pin down the document’s date Cryptiana now lists the cipher as solved. AI just helped unlock a piece of history that had been sitting unread for more than two centuries. Pretty wild use case. @aipost 🏴
- 🤯 Harvard gave students an AI tutor and the results are wild What happens when you replace a traditional physics lesson with a custom AI tutor? Harvard tested exactly that and students using the AI system learned more than twice as much as those in an active-learning classroom, while spending less time studying. The experiment involved 194 undergraduates taking introductory physics. Students used a purpose-built AI tutor designed around learning science, rather than a general chatbot. The AI guided students with questions, explanations and reasoning checks instead of simply handing them answers. The median post-test score was 4.5 for the AI group, compared with 3.5 for the classroom group. Students also spent about 49 minutes with the AI tutor versus 60 minutes in the classroom. The really interesting part is that this wasn’t just “ChatGPT teaches physics.” The system was specifically engineered to behave like a personalized tutor, adapting explanations, challenging students with questions and checking their reasoning. The study was limited to two physics topics at Harvard, so it doesn’t prove AI can replace universities or teachers. Source. @aipost 🏴
- Why Trump is calling AI “Super Intelligence” 👀 Trump just ordered the U.S. government to stop using “Artificial Intelligence” and “AI” in most official documents and replace them with “Super Intelligence” and “SI.” The White House says the terminology reflects how far frontier systems have advanced beyond simply “imitating” human intelligence. But the legal implications could be more interesting. The U.S. already has a growing patchwork of state AI regulations. So could a new federal definition of “Super Intelligence” eventually become part of the battle over which rules apply? The executive order does NOT currently exempt SI companies from state AI laws. In fact, for now, it explicitly defines “Super Intelligence” using the existing federal statutory definition of artificial intelligence. However, the order also tells the administration to propose a new federal definition of SI within 60 days, including whether it should modify or replace the existing definition. Trump is essentially asking Washington to create a new vocabulary and potentially a new legal framework around frontier AI. Then there’s the White House’s voluntary AI accord, which Trump has described as “a form of protection.” Supporters can frame that as companies voluntarily agreeing to stronger safety standards. Critics could see it as an attempt to establish industry-friendly federal standards before states impose their own. Either way, the terminology is only the beginning. If “AI” becomes “Super Intelligence” in federal policy, the bigger fight may be over what that new category actually means and which laws get to regulate it. Source. @aipost 🏴
- 🧠 AI agents could disrupt the subscription economy A surprising amount of subscription revenue may come from something very simple: people forgetting to cancel. Stanford research suggests around 50% of subscription revenue comes from customers who don’t actively cancel. People are also about 4× more likely to cancel when they’re prompted to make an active decision. AI agents don’t forget. Agents like Muse, Instinct, and Grok Bot can already scan accounts, find subscriptions you’ve stopped using, and bring them back to your attention. When personal AI agents are running on everyone’s phone, “forgot to cancel” could become a much smaller source of revenue and subscription businesses may have to rethink how they retain customers. @aipost 🏴

- 🔍 Google unveils Gemini 4 Argon Google has introduced Gemini 4 Argon, a new frontier model designed for complex coding, enterprise knowledge work, and cybersecurity tasks. Argon supports up to 1 million tokens of output, giving it room to reason through long, multi-step problems in a single run. It’s initially rolling out to trusted testers through Google’s Fairwind Program, with a broader release for developers, enterprises, and consumers planned later. Source. @aipost 🏴
- ❗️Women report more concern about AI than men A survey of roughly 3,000 people across the US and Canada found a consistent gender gap in attitudes toward AI: women were more likely to view the technology as risky and were more skeptical of its benefits than men. Researchers point to two possible factors: • Risk orientation — women, on average, report greater caution toward uncertain or rapidly changing technologies. • Risk exposure — women may perceive greater risks from AI-driven job displacement and economic disruption. The researchers warn that ignoring these concerns could deepen existing inequalities and fuel resistance to AI adoption. Source. @aipost 🏴
- America.gov is starting to look like an Apple launch event for government 🇺🇸 The idea is bigger than a new website: the US government is trying to turn bureaucracy into a software product. An AI interface could make government services easier to use, while new digital tools for things like passports and name changes give citizens something governments rarely deliver: actual product updates. The software is visible. People can test it, find bugs and see whether fixes actually work. That could make these launches more consequential than traditional political speeches. It also shows where tech and government can overlap: automate paperwork, remove friction and replace 20th-century forms with code. Airbnb co-founder Joe Gebbia went through YC in 2009. Now, years later, that startup ecosystem is helping reshape how Americans interact with their government. @aipost 🏴
