Strikes on generation and distribution infrastructure have prompted emergency power cuts in Kiev and the surrounding region, as well as the neighboring Chernigov and Zhitomir regions. Around 30% of consumers in the Ukrainian capital lost electricity. Electric public transport and lighting are partially affected, but the metro continues to operate. - 🇷🇺 These images show the Ukrainian Nozh ("Нож") explosive reactive armor (ERA) system, but the warhead used by those Geran drones to cut power lines is likely very similar. It consists of tubes with a crescent-shaped cross-section that, when detonated, produce a flat jet capable of cutting through metal structures. Naturally, the tubular elements on Geran drones are much larger and heavier than those in the reactive armor shown in the photo. #info #Geran
- 🇷🇺🤜🇺🇦 A compilation of Geran strikes on power lines near Kiev. Apparently, alongside strikes on electricity generation at thermal power plants, combined heat and power plants, and hydroelectric stations, efforts are also being made to disrupt the transmission of electricity from them to consumers in the Ukrainian capital. According to the enemy, drones equipped with cutting shaped-charge warheads were used for these purposes for the first time. These were developed specifically to destroy high-voltage pylons and metal bridge structures. Their specialized cutting shaped-charge payload, abbreviated KRSN (“КРСН”), consists of a main charge weighing 40 kg and four destructive modules. However, destroying several power lines around Kiev will not bring down the entire distribution network at once. The system operates with several layers of redundancy, which the enemy has further reinforced in previous years. A significant, lasting effect can only result from repeated, systematic strikes. #info #Geran

- 🇧🇪🤜🇺🇦 Most Ukrainian F-16s are not combat-ready because of maintenance problems in Belgium, according to The Wall Street Journal. After 300 flight hours, F-16 fighters require scheduled maintenance of their engines, avionics, hydraulics, fuel lines, and other components. This work is performed by Belgium’s Sabena Aerospace Engineering under a contract with the United States. The entire process in Belgium takes up to 40 weeks, while equivalent work in the United States takes between two and six weeks. As a result, more than half of Ukraine’s F-16 fighters are currently grounded. At the current rates of operations and maintenance, Kiev could exhaust the remaining aircraft’s available flight hours by the end of 2026. The extensive use of F-16s against Russia’s new jet-powered drones creates an additional problem. Interestingly, this is not the first complaint about fighter maintenance in Belgium. In April 2026, Norway’s NRK reported that all six Norwegian F-16s intended for Ukraine had been stuck in Belgium for a prolonged period. Two aircraft had been there for over a year, while another four, delivered disassembled, had still not been put back together. #info #F16 #Belgium
- 🇷🇺 Those on the receiving end filmed a review of the Geran-4 jet-powered UAV, showing its internal and external components. An American media outlet was given a specimen launched from Crimea that reached Lutsk. Here is what they found: The jet engine allows the UAV to reach altitudes of up to 8 kilometers, twice as high as drones with piston engines. Its flight speed is 450 to 500 km/h. On that point, those on the receiving end now expect Russian drones to reach speeds of 800 km/h. They are anticipating this while still lacking countermeasures even against the current jet-powered models. Engine production using Chinese components has been established in Russia, meaning the next step is fully localized production, with all the consequences that entails for those on the receiving end. The drone’s camera has 10x optical zoom and 32x digital zoom, allowing it to distinguish objects at any flight altitude. Alongside equipment for communications through a mesh network, the UAV carries ordinary mobile phone SIM cards.
