How to sell ads without intermediaries
For channel owners: what to prepare so that buyers come, and which numbers an advertiser reads before writing to you.
An advertiser who looks for channels on their own comes to you from a tg.place page, and before the first message they already know more about the channel than they will ask. Subscribers, average post reach, engagement, reactions, forwards, posts in 30 days, the score and the rank in the category — all of it is on the page, with the date of measurement.
Selling without an intermediary means making those numbers answer the questions for you, so that your reply is about price and dates rather than proof.
What the advertiser computes first
The price per thousand views. They divide your price by the average post reach from the page. A channel with 1,612,296 subscribers and a reach of 195,382 views is 12%; a channel with 487,802 subscribers and a reach of 27,600 views is 5.7%, and a price «per subscriber» will not work there.
So the first thing to know about your own channel is the reach of an ad post, not a regular one. Ads are read less; name the number yourself, and the conversation moves faster.
Verify ownership
It takes a minute: a post with a code, or our bot among the administrators. After that the page carries your description, your replies to reviews in the channel's name, and an owner badge. On September 10, 2026 the catalog had 9 verified owners across 5,922 records; an advertiser choosing between two similar channels will see the mark on one and not on the other.
The second step is the bot among the administrators: the numbers on the page become exact, the same as in your statistics. There are 8 such records, and their owners do not have to send screenshots.
What to prepare
A price list by format. 1/24, 2/48, 3/72, 3/168, no deletion — advertisers know these notations, and a ladder of four or five steps answers «and for a week?» before it is asked. What the numbers mean is the formats guide.
A deletion rule. Say in advance what happens if the post has to come down early through your fault — a partial refund or a replacement. It is the second question after the price, and «we'll work it out» does not close it.
A sample post. One past ad post with a link — and the views under it. It shows the style, the reach, and that ads in the channel actually go out.
Boundaries. What you do not place — topics, formats, competitors. A three-line list saves the correspondence with half of those who write.
What not to do
Do not quote a price per subscriber. On September 10, 2026, 1,551 channels of the 2,811 with a full score were losing subscribers on most days of the month; the advertiser sees that in the «growth» signal on the page and will compare it with the reach themselves.
Do not top up the audience before selling. The score sees a one-day spike and lowers the weight of growth; engagement four times the reference for the channel's size is treated as impossible and zeroed out. Leaving the chart as it is costs less.
Do not hide the number of posts. 52 posts a month is normal for a news channel, and the score accounts for it through consistency; from that number the advertiser works out how many hours on top to ask for.
Read your page through a buyer's eyes
Open your channel's page and look at it as someone with a budget. The score and the grade are the first thing they see; the line «higher than N out of 10 channels in the category» is the second. Then engagement, reactions and forwards: a channel that is read but not forwarded sells reach, a channel with forwards also sells spread, and those are different prices.
The section «What the score is made of» shows where you lose points: consistency 5.6 of 12 at 52 posts a month is the price of frequency, trust 3.5 of 8 is the youth of the record, and neither is cured by buying anything. The advertiser reads the same section, and it is better to know it by heart before the conversation.
What a good reply looks like
Three lines. Format and price: «1/24 — this much, 2/48 — this much». Reach: «an ad post collects this many views in a day, a regular post this many». Dates: «the nearest free slot is then». Everything else the advertiser has already read on the page, and the less you repeat it, the more they trust you.
